5 Fall Car Cleaning Tips

5 Fall Car Cleaning Tips

Fall weather can turn your beautiful looking car into a mess. If it’s time to give it a deep clean, follow these five fall car cleaning tips that will turn heads when you get back out on the road.

Try a Two-in-One Shampoo and Wax

You can save yourself a lot of time and effort by using a two-in-one shampoo and wax liquid to clean your car. The shampoo will remove any dirt while reducing unwanted abrasion that could cause rust, and the wax will help protect it as you wash.

Use a Chamois Cloth to Dry It

Air drying will only leave watermarks on the surface, ruining all of your efforts. To get a streak-free clean, use a chamois cloth to dry the car after you’ve washed it. This soft cloth will carefully remove any of the water droplets and leave the car looking spotless. To get a polished look, use figure 8 movements from top to bottom.

Use Window Cleaner On the Glass

If you’re using the same shampoo on the paintwork for your windows, you’re going to get less than ideal results. For clean, clear glass, you need a proper window cleaner and squeegee – not a paper towel as it will leave behind tiny pieces of paper and fluff. A squeegee will do a much better job of drying the windows and in a fraction of the time it takes with a towel.

Don’t Forget About the Wheels and Underbelly

The fall season in Ottawa can bring rain, snow and muck which can get caked onto the bottom of your car and in between the brakes. This buildup over time can impact the performance of your vehicle as well as its safety. To ensure your Ottawa Honda vehicle stays in good working condition, make sure to spray water under the car and through the wheels to remove any debris that has hardened on it.

Apply a Trim Restorer

Is your black trim looking dull or faded thanks to all the elements? You can easily restore your fender flairs, mud flaps, panel trim, door handles, roof racks and other black materials with a trim restorer that will create a lasting finish. Simply spray it on and let it dry. The black vinyl trim and rubber will dry clean, leaving a beautiful shine and added protection behind.
