6 Places to Take Your Honda this Summer

6 Places to Take Your Honda this Summer
Even though we might not be able to travel abroad just yet, there are still plenty of ways to make the most out of the summer in and around the Ottawa region. Check out some of these places to take your Honda this summer!

Parc Omega

If you want to get out of the city without having to venture too far, check out Parc Omega. It’s the best spot to visit on a summer’s day with the family. You can stay comfy inside your Honda CR-V or any other Honda vehicle and get up close and personal, feeding the deer and elk or just spotting wildlife throughout the park. It’s the perfect getaway when you want to enjoy being surrounded by nature. You can also rent a cabin or tipi if you wish to stay for the night. Just make sure to check out their website to keep apprised on any COVID updates.

Mississippi Mills

Less than an hour from the city is the Mill of Kintail Conservation area. You can park the car and take a stroll through this picturesque area. There are walking trails through the woods that wind along the river. Occasional events are hosted here too, but it’s worth a visit just to enjoy the beautiful landscape that feels more like a western part of Canada.

Wakefield

This small village is only 45 minutes from Ottawa and is ideal if you’re searching for something laid back and relaxing to do for the day. There are lots of biking and hiking trails nearby, or you can stay in town and enjoy the quaint antique shops, cafes, and restaurants once COVID restrictions ease.

Gatineau Park

Gatineau is one of the most renowned parks, sprawling over 360 square kilometres. Here you’ll find plenty of places to explore, including trails, historic ruins, and waterfalls. We recommend choosing a weekday to avoid crowds as it’s one of the most popular spots in the region.

Almonte

Almonte is a small scenic mill town that’s located along the Mississippi River (we have one in Canada, too!). It’s filled with historic buildings and quaint streets that have lots of little shops and boutiques that add to its character. Browse the galleries, bakeries, and cafes and take in the cozy small-town vibe that’s just a stone’s throw from Ottawa.

Eagle’s Nest Lookout

Want a challenging hike with an epic view? Head just past the Calabogie Peaks Ski Resort, and you’ll find this infamous spot. It’s one of the best lookouts in Ontario. It’s about half an hour to get up there, but it’s worth the view!
